National Day of Prayer

Do you realize that last Thursday (May 1st) was a national day of prayer?? I hope you do :) I felt the spirit so strong that day, even before I realized that that day was a national day of prayer. I know that it was just a day like any other day, it was just a Thursday. But I believe that God can use that day to remind someone about God.

I convinced that everyone have said a prayer, and I mean everyone!! Even an atheist have said a prayer at least once in their life. As a human being, we have that need to cry out to God for a relief. When we can't do anything and feel powerless we ask for a help. I believe that God puts that into each of us. Just like we need each other, we also need God.

If today your life is perfect, everything seems to be going to the right direction, know that everything that you have today is a blessing. We won't have anything unless He gave. At the end of the day will you turn to Him and say "Thanks"...

UMSL International Dinner 2008

Last Saturday Indonesian students at UMSL were invited to participate in the International Dinner 2008, an annual event held by the university. Along with us, there were so many international student organization from around the globe.

At the beginning, we decided to cook only Beef Rendang and Chicken Soup (a.k.a. soto ayam). Then one of our friends participated by cooking a Beef Ribs Soup. I thought three entrees were already too many, but there's actually more. The PLN groups made homemade desserts, Klepon and Kue Mangkok.

While other organizations brought only two entrees on average, we brought three entrees and two dessert. Fantastic! If there were such an award for the most delicious food, I bet our Beef Ribs Soup will won that award. Too bad there was no award...
